Case Study: Korean Crunch

Brief.

Korean Crunch Hackney is a brand under the Orbit Ltd brand, owned and operated by 3 co-founders. With their new menus completed, they reached out to me with the brief of capturing menu food photography of their Korean menu.

Their menu offers classic dishes like Bimibap, Danburi, Mandu (dumplings), and sides - including Korean BBQ wings, kimchi, and Panko Prawns, as well as dips.

The food photography would be used across multiple kitchens in London, and used on online ordering platform Deliveroo.

Approach.

After a quick call with the Orbit team, I shared a food photography package for a 1/2 day session that covered capturing 20 menu items, and a hero banner image showing a selection of their best-selling items.

To match the Korean look and feel of the brand, I selected a series of vinyl photography backgrounds from my collection. These included reds, teal blues, and blacks - inspired by the Korean flag.

During the session, I provided some smaller styling suggestions to the team to make each menu item look the best it could in our food photography session, and we had a really productive session together.

The edited food photography content was delivered within 72-hours and the team were pleased with the results.
