Frequently Asked Questions.

Clear answers to common questions about working with me on food photography projects:

Where do you shoot?

I’m a London-based food photographer and work across London and the UK.

Most of my food photography projects take place in studios, at rental locations and at restaurants and hotels. I also travel nationally for larger brand and hospitality shoots.

Do you have a studio for food photography in London?

I work across a range of hired photography studios and on-location spaces in London and across the UK, selected based on the scale, creative needs, and logistics of each food photography project.

Are you insured?

Yes. I carry £5 million public liability insurance for both studio and on-location food photography, including restaurants, hotels, and hired locations.

All equipment used on set is fully insured, PAT tested, and professionally maintained.

What is your availability?

Commercial food photography projects are typically scheduled in advance to allow time for planning and pre-production.

Restaurant photography projects can often be turned around on a shorter timeline.

If you’re working to a tighter schedule, get in touch with your preferred dates and I’ll confirm availability or suggest the nearest suitable option.

Do you take a deposit? / What are your payment terms?

To secure your shoot date(s), a 50% booking deposit is required. The remaining balance is due 30 calendar days after the end of your session.

Full details are outlined during the booking process and in my quotes, invoices, and Terms & Conditions.

How will I receive my edited content? What are your turnaround times?

Edited content is delivered within 72 hours of your shoot*.

Files are shared via a secure online gallery, making it easy for your team to download, review, and distribute content internally.

If your project is working to a tighter timeline, this can be discussed during briefing and factored into the production schedule.

* Business days (Monday to Friday, excl UK holidays) & unless otherwise stated on a client’s production schedule).

Who owns the copyright on the content?

Hikaru Funnell Photography retains copyright to all imagery.

Clients are licensed to use the delivered content in line with the agreed usage outlined in the booking process, quotes, invoices, and my Terms & Conditions.

Extended usage or buyouts can be discussed in advance where required and factored into the project scope.

Will you use our shoot content for marketing?

I may feature selected imagery from commissioned projects across my portfolio, case studies, and professional channels.

For pre-launch or embargoed work, content is never shared until after launch.

If you have specific restrictions around usage or timing, these are flagged during briefing.
