Case Study: Sanjugo Lifestyle

Brief.

Sanjugo are a popular Japanese restaurant group with locations across London. They’re known for fresh sushi, donburi bowls, small plates and a friendly atmosphere.

As a returning client, they brought me back to capture lifestyle-led food photography for digital marketing and in-venue use.

The aim was to create bright, modern visuals that highlight the freshness and colour of their menu while staying true to the calm, minimalist aesthetic of their brand.

Approach.

We kicked things off by revisiting the creative direction we started on our principal session - this time focusing more on lifestyle food photography groupings of dishes, interactions, team portraits and interiors - all making use of the context of space.

I led a one-day lifestyle food photography shoot on-site, working alongside their team to bring out the detail and vibrancy in each dish.

The approach was simple and focused: natural setups, soft yet directional studio lighting light, and subtle contrast to let the fresh ingredients shine.

We included hands interacting with dishes, shared plates, and natural tableside moments to reflect the Sanjugo experience.

The final set gave the team a fresh batch of lifestyle-driven food photography assets, perfect for social content, marketing campaigns, and digital screens in their restaurants.
