Case Study: Layalina Billericay

Brief.
Building on the success of a recent food photography session with Layalina Piccadilly, the team reached out to me about their Essex branch in the town of Billericay.
Layalina Billericay offers a modern Lebanese menu of updated classics, and paired them with their hand-crafted cocktails and signature wines from Lebanon and the rest of the world.
With Christmas on the horizon, they briefed me to capture food photography of their Christmas and Winter menus, to drive awareness and bookings via their Instagram, website and TripAdvisor.
Having lots of experience with this cuisine and being a lover of Lebanese food, I was excited to team back up with the family-owned restaurant.
Approach.
We breifly caught up on a phone call and I pitched in the concept using the context of their restaurant as the backdrop for our shoot, whilst using studio lighting to create a warm early evening feeling to their food photography.
For the session, I caught up with the executive chef to run through the list of dishes for our session and worked with the bar manager to pair drinks to them.
We split our time between capturing food photography of dishes being finished tableside, adding a feeling of movement, handheld dishes - for a human touch, and a collection of pairings of food & drinks, with a separate focus being placed on individual dishes. This would give a wide spread of content, whilst feeling salient in telling their brand story through their food photography.
The edited food photography with delivered within 72-hours, and the client was really pleased with the final results. It’s great to see their edited food photography doing well on their Instagram, website, and TripAdvisor, in helping them stand out and show their unique offering.
