Case Study: Dendara Lifestyle

Brief.

Dendara is a Kensington-based wholefood bakery and deli specialising in nutrient-dense, artisan tarts, pies, and cakes that are 100% gluten, dairy, and refined-sugar-free (and delicious!).

As a previous cleint, they hired me as their food photographer to shoot both new menu items for their web-store and reportage imagery of founder Salma and her head baker crafting items in the café kitchen. The aim was to combine polished product shots with storytelling visuals that reflect the brand’s craftsmanship and ethos.

Approach.

I organised a combined shoot: clean menu imagery for the web-store, plus candid, behind-the-scenes reportage of Salma and her head baker working in the café.

On shoot day, we had a food photography session that balanced precision with spontaneity - capturing item shots under contrasting studio lighting alongside dynamic moments: piping pastries, filling tart cases, and the baker applying finishing touches.

My approach ensured the product photography was bright and clear, while the reportage sequences felt warm, authentic, and in tune with Dendara’s healing-food philosophy.

The result was a versatile image collection of crisp, on-brand visuals for the e-commerce store, and expressive storytelling for social content, press features, and brand narratives.
