Case Study: Form Nutrition
Brief.
Form Nutrition are a plant-forward sports nutrition brand focused on formulas that balance performance with clean, high-quality ingredients. With a growing presence in wellness channels and a high-profile brand narrative, they’re positioning their products to be both functional and aspirational.
For the launch of two new protein bar SKUs, Chocolate Peanut and Chocolate Salted Caramel, Form needed commercial food photography that could introduce the products clearly and confidently across brand marketing, paid media, retail touchpoints, and press.
The requirement was not a single hero image, but a launch-ready image library that could support both storytelling and sales. The imagery needed to communicate quality, flavour cues, and ingredient integrity while remaining consistent across formats, crops, and channels.
Approach.
I led the project as a structured commercial production, with pre-production and food styling treated as core to the outcome.
Ahead of the shoot, art direction, shot structure, and food styling logic fully planned, so that the texture, structure, and ingredient visibility would read accurately on camera across all required outputs. This allowed the bars to be photographed honestly and appetisingly, without over-manipulation or visual inconsistency.
The shoot was built around a series of clearly defined setups, including ingredient-led compositions, cross-sections, lifestyle moments, SRP imagery, and clean pack shots — each serving a specific commercial use while remaining visually cohesive as part of a wider system.
By holding control upstream and maintaining consistency throughout production, the resulting commercial food photography delivered a flexible, launch-ready image library that Form could deploy confidently across digital, paid, retail, and future brand activity.
