Case Study: Dendara Bakery
Brief.
Dendara is a recently opened, family-owned French-Egyptian bakery based in the West London neighbourhood of Kensington.
Founder and bakery owner, Salma reached out to me wanting a restaurant photographer to capture food photography of their offering, as well as a library of content to get them started as a newly launched bakery.
With a day to prep before their half-day food photography session, I lead on the brief treatment by suppling a visually-led brief that would give a good range for the client on their first session with me - looking to expand on it over time. The brief included restaurant photography food heroes, as well as storytelling reportage imagery and interiors to contextualise their loverly new interior.
Approach.
During a morning 1/2 day session, we captured my restaurant photography brief, that put a focus on the context of the space, Salma’s Egyptian heritage, and focussed on creating a collection of different counter-top food heroes, mixed in with some contextural portraiture and reportage imagery of the team making specialty coffees and interacting with their customers.
The client was really happy with their restaurant photography, and it’s been great to see them posting the content across thier social touchpoints and website.
