Case Study: Castle Chinese
Brief.
Based in the county town of Lewes, East Sussex - Castle Chinese are a family-owned Chinese restaurant that have been operating since 2016.
With a new website and branding in the pipeline - husband and wife team, Helen and Lee were looking for a restaurant photographer to capture food photography of their offering - to be used across their digital and print touchpoints.
I started off by looking at their soon to be launched identity, and their competitors - both locally and further afield in Lewes. I used this to produce a visually-led brief that would give a good range for the client.
Approach.
Shooting on-location at the restaurant for a day session, we captured restaurant photography from my brief.
The content captured was a combination of different table-side food spreads and single food heroes, mixed in with some kitchen reportage imagery of chef Lee - along with additional contextural portraiture of the family to add a face to the business.
The clients were really happy with their restaurant photography content, and it’s been great to see it used across their website and touch points.
